The discussion guide is designed to stimulate conversation and provides suggestions for further action for each of the 12 segments in Not My Life. Themes covered in the discussion guide include forced labor, sex trafficking, sex tourism, child exploitation, domestic servitude, and children in armed conflict.

Airline Ambassadors Training

Lotus Alliance Training

LOTUS Alliance is a social enterprise that works with the tourism industry to provide employment opportunities to survivors of human trafficking. LOTUS works in regions where tourism is a large economic driver preparing and incentivizing hotels to take an active role in the preservation of the local economy and culture. The Role of Hospitality in Preventing and Reacting to Child Trafficking

This 30 minute online course defines the issue of child trafficking and explains why it is important to hotels. The Educational Institute and ECPAT-USA partnered to develop this online training to provide the information needed for hotel employees and managers to identify and respond to human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC).

Blue Campaign Training Programs

The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Blue Campaign provides training, outreach and victim assistance. The Blue Campaign includes DHS's and the Department of Transportation's Blue Lightning program, which trains U.S. airline personnel. It also offers awareness training for passengers.

The Code

The Code (short for “The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism”) is an industry-driven responsible tourism initiative with a mission to provide awareness, tools and support to the tourism industry in order to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.
